Description

The third fraction of Ylang Ylang essential oil is the heaviest and richest in sesquiterpenes (β-caryophyllene, germacrene), offering a deep and persistent woody-floral olfactive profile, less fruity and more earthy-woody than the first fractions. Its olfactive profile is a complex floral-woody, with subtly woody-earthy nuances, a slightly spicy facet, and a creamy floral depth characteristic of Ylang sesquiterpenes, making this fraction a highly effective natural floral fixative. In perfumery, the 3rd fraction is used as a base modifier in grand floral compositions, oriental-florals, and chypre-florals, where its persistence and woody-floral complexity contribute to the fragrance's architecture and longevity.
