Description

THYMOL is a monoterpenic phenol (5-methyl-2-isopropylphenol) naturally found in thyme, ajwain, and savory oils, responsible for the characteristic medicinal and spicy-herbaceous nature of these aromatics. Its olfactive profile is intensely spicy-herbaceous, phenolic, slightly camphoraceous, and medicinal, evoking antiseptic balms and Mediterranean aromatic herbs; in low doses, it provides a discreet yet powerful spicy warmth. In perfumery, thymol is used in aromatic-spicy accords, masculine fougères, and botanical-herbaceous compositions, while also being employed in dentistry and oral hygiene products for its recognized antiseptic properties.
