Description

Trans-2-dodecenal is a long-chain (C12) unsaturated aliphatic aldehyde naturally found in certain citrus fruits, herbs, and vegetable fats. Its odor profile is citrusy-fatty-aldehydic with a slightly waxy and floral nuance, longer and creamier than its shorter counterparts (C6, C8), contributing to the texture of zest reconstructions and the silky aspect of aldehydic accords. In perfumery, it is used in traces in sophisticated aldehydic compositions, grapefruit and Bergamot reconstructions, and oriental-floral accords where the naturally slightly fatty aspect adds a dimension of authenticity.
