PINENE ALPHA
Description
Alpha-pinene is the most abundant monoterpene in nature, found in almost all conifers and many other plants. Its olfactory profile is woody, slightly terpenic, and fresh, with the characteristic pine-resin note and an omnipresent natural herbal freshness. A major component of pine, turpentine, and rosemary essential oils, it is an important precursor in the synthesis of many aromatic compounds. Used in woody-aromatic creations, fougères, and fresh forest accords, it brings a very versatile natural conifer freshness. It also serves as the basic raw material for the synthesis of many terpene-derived fragrance molecules.
