OCTAHYDROCOUMARIN is a fully saturated derivative of coumarin, offering a softer, more lactonic balsamic profile. Its olfactory profile is balsamic, slightly coumarinic, and gently sweet, with a natural coconut-like note and a more pronounced persistence than classic coumarin. Used in sweet-balsamic creations, lactonic-fougère accords, and warm base compositions, it adds a discreet balsamic roundness. It combines harmoniously with coumarin, soft musks, and sandalwood in classic and balsamic masculine creations. Its superior chemical stability compared to coumarin makes it a reliable tool for certain specific applications.
