Description

MUSCONE is the 15-membered macrocyclic ketone responsible for the characteristic scent of natural Siberian musk (Moschus moschiferus), one of the most precious animalic materials in perfumery history. Its olfactive profile is musky, slightly animalic and of unparalleled natural finesse, with a gentle warmth and remarkable persistence. Synthetic muscone allows for the olfactive qualities of natural musk without resorting to protected animal-derived materials. Used in prestigious musky creations and natural musk reconstructions, it provides an irreplaceable noble musky base. It is the historical benchmark for musks in perfumery.
