Description
Methyl eugenol is a synthetic raw material, of Indian origin, belonging to the spicy-floral family. It has a warm and spicy-floral olfactory profile, with notes of sweet clove, slightly spicy rose, and a subtle balsamic-anise facet. As a heart and base ingredient, it is used in oriental floral accords, carnations, and clove reconstructions. Powerful and tenacious, it is subject to strict IFRA restrictions due to its confirmed genotoxic activity — its use is very limited or even prohibited in most cosmetic and perfumed applications.
