Description

Hexadecanolide is a synthetic raw material from the macrocyclic musk family. It has a clean, silky, musky scent profile, with notes of soft animal musk that are slightly milky and an enveloping warmth in the base. A structuring base ingredient, it is used in natural musk accords, soft animalic bases, and sensual orientals. Its high substantivity and fixative effect make it a valuable component of musk bases — to be dosed in synergy with other macrocyclics for a deep and natural musk effect.
