CLOVE TERPENES
Description
Clove terpenes are terpene fractions isolated during the processing of clove essential oil, primarily composed of beta-caryophyllene and other sesquiterpenes. Their olfactory profile is spicy, slightly woody, and softer than full clove essential oil, with a characteristic attenuated spicy note and a natural woody dimension. Used in spicy-woody creations and modern spicy base accords, they provide a natural spicy warmth without the phenolic power of the full essential oil. They also constitute a natural source of beta-caryophyllene for perfumery. Their use is easier to control in formulations than the full essential oil.
