Description

GAIACOL is a phenolic compound naturally found in wood smoke, creosote, and many essential oils (guaiac, cinnamon, clove). Its olfactory profile is woody, smoky, and slightly phenolic, with a characteristic burnt wood note and a subtle animalic undertone. Used in precise doses in smoky leather accords, dark woody compositions, and campfire-type fragrances, it provides an irreplaceable natural smoky authenticity. Its phenolic power requires very careful dosing to avoid a medicinal effect. Perfumers use it in classic leather fragrances and niche creations with a smoky-animalic character.
