Description

Gamma-heptalactone is a small 7-membered cyclic lactone offering a lactonic and slightly gourmand olfactory profile. Its scent is lactonic, slightly creamy and coumarin-like, with a sweet note of fresh coconut and a pleasant lightness. Its moderate volatility makes it a useful contributor for sweet-milky heart accords. Used in light gourmand creations, creamy florals and sweet-coconut accords, it enriches compositions with its fresh lactonic note. It combines with other lactones and soft musks in creamy and enveloping accords. Its use in fine perfumery complements more powerful macrocyclic lactones.
