Description

Clove leaf essential oil is obtained by distilling the leaves of Syzygium aromaticum. Its scent profile is spicy, slightly woody and more acrid than bud essential oil, with an even higher eugenol content and a more pronounced phenolic note. Subject to restrictions under the 49th IFRA amendment due to its high eugenol content, it must be used within regulatory limits depending on the product type. Used in spicy-leathery accords, deep orientals and classic spice reconstitutions, it brings a unique spicy-woody depth. Its controlled dosage is essential to exploit its aromatic richness without imbalance.
