Description

Galbanum essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the resin of Ferula galbaniflua, an umbelliferous plant native to the Middle East. Its olfactory profile is green, pungent and remarkably vegetal, with a note of freshly cut stem, green pepper and a slight resinous touch. It is one of the most powerful and authentic green notes in natural perfumery. Used since antiquity in perfumery and religion, it is found in many great floral-green classics (such as Chanel No. 19). Perfumers use it in controlled doses to bring exceptional natural greenness to floral and chypre accords. Its power is extreme and its dosage must be precise.
