Ethyl caprylate is a medium-chain ester offering a characteristic fruity and slightly lactonic olfactive profile. Its aroma is fruity, slightly wine-like, and creamy-smooth with notes of ripe pineapple and sweet brandy. Naturally present in passion fruit and some wines, it is used in fruity-exotic creations and alcoholic-fruity accords. Its moderate volatility ensures its presence from the heart to the base of compositions. It harmonizes well with other lactone esters, soft musks, and exotic florals in fruity-sensual compositions. Its slightly alcoholic aspect contributes to very trendy cognac-fruity accords.
