Description

COSTUS OLIFFAC is a synthetic reproduction of the olfactory characteristics of costus root (Saussurea lappa), a plant material with regulatory restrictions. Its olfactory profile is animalic, slightly earthy and woody, with a distinct milky-cheesy facet reminiscent of animal secretions. This deep animalic nuance is used in chypre, oriental, and classic compositions to bring a complex, natural animality. Used in very low doses, it gives formulas a carnal dimension and a depth reminiscent of the great perfumes of the last century. The synthetic version allows for compliance with IFRA standards.
