Description

Clove bud essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the dried flower buds of Syzygium aromaticum. Its scent profile is spicy, warm, and very powerful, with the characteristic clove-phenolic note and an immediate penetrating warmth. Primarily composed of eugenol, it has been one of the most used spices in oriental perfumery for centuries. Used sparingly in spicy compositions, oriental-woody scents, and carnation-clove accords, it provides an authentic spicy warmth. Its potency requires precise dosing. It is indispensable in "hot spice" accords and the reconstitution of classic oriental perfumes.
