1-OCTEN-3-OL is a synthetic or natural raw material from the earthy-mushroom note family. Its olfactory profile is very characteristic: fresh mushroom, damp earth, slightly herbaceous and slightly metallic. Naturally present in many mushrooms, it is very powerful and must be used with extreme caution (0.001–0.05%). A valuable ingredient for "earth", "forest" and "mushroom" accords in niche perfumery.
