Fig Accord

  • The Fig accord had been one of my very first step in the formulation world. I came across the "Premier Figuier" by Dyptique and I fell in love with this note. Over time I perfectionned my accord but in perfumery, the simmpler the better. For me the very basic of the accord is
    1) Octalagone Gamma

    2) Stigemone (or stemone)

    3) Amberxan (or Ambroxan)

I manage to have this green sharp note with this soft coconut smell and the ambery note of the Amberxan. Now that we are almost in summer, the fig strees start to smell and it brings me back to one my first perfumery love.
People are always astonished when I mention that for me it is the leaf and not the fruit the most intersting.

How would you build on that accord?

  • @Xavier Blaizot Here is my version.

    romandolide   390.00
    stemone   300.00
    Gamma-nonalactone    100.00
    Coumarin  50.00
    Triplal  50.00
    Ethyl maltol -FW  50.00
    cis-3 Hexenol  50.00
    Vanillin  10.00

  • @Xavier Blaizot Hi,
For a good fig accord, I would use:
    -gamma nonalactone
    -Stemone
    -Ambrox
    -cis-3 hexenol
    -cis-3 hexenyl acetate
    -Trace amounts of Florhydral
    -Trace amounts of Calone
These materials will give you a very good green, dewy fig accord.
